The Why Series

At last - a new series of little children's books - and each one based around that most popular kid's question 'WHY?'.

NEWS FLASH!

Rich Hume and Tom Barnes have successfully completed their row across the Atlantic to raise funds for Ataxia UK. Half way across Rich discovered that his Mum had hidden 2 little books in his pack to cheer him up - Why There are Waves on the Sea and Why Stars Come Out at Night! Rich enjoyed the books so much he put his charity in touch with the author and now you can buy the books AND support Ataxia UK at the same time - see our Charities page for more info.

Written in Edinburgh by Eric Pullin and illustrated by Chris Davis, who studied at Stevenson College Edinburgh, the books are published by Barny Books and are a delight both for parents to read and for children to hear.

Each little book, illustrated in full colour, tells a fantasy story of why something should be the way that it is - all in an amusing rhyme. Early titles in the series include:-

WHY OWLS ARE THE WISEST BIRDS

WHY THERE ARE WAVES ON THE SEA

WHY STARS COME OUT AT NIGHT

WHY ANIMALS DON'T TALK

WHY ZEBRAS HAVE BLACK AND WHITE STRIPES

These first five titles are already available, a further five titles will be released over the course of the next year and more will follow, making The Why Series a perfect collectable set which can be built up by asking friends and relatives to give a Why Series book for birthdays or Christmas.

The following pages tell you where you can buy the books and how the Why Series began. I do hope you and your family enjoy reading them.
